About Us

We are a collective of Iranian human rights lawyers and legal professionals across the world, standing with all freedom-seekers, justice-advocates, and democratic actors.

1Kalameh Network

A unified voice of lawyers and civic advocates for a democratic, secular, and rule-of-law–based future for Iran.

Our Mission

The mission of the 1Kalameh Legal Network is to provide legal support, deliver human rights and rule-of-law training, and strengthen the foundations of justice and accountable governance. By transferring expertise from experienced lawyers to younger practitioners, we aim to expand the next generation of Iranian human rights lawyers, ensuring that no citizen faces injustice alone.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a leading legal–civil institution that:

  • becomes a trusted reference for Iranian communities worldwide,
  • provides an early-warning mechanism for threats and rights violations,
  • strengthens the foundations of human rights, due process, and legal defense,
  • bridges communities with future democratic institutions in Iran,
  • and contributes to shaping the intellectual and legal framework of a democratic, secular, rights-based Iran.

Our Commitment

The 1Kalameh Legal Network aligns itself with the historic demand of the Iranian people for the rule of law—not any legal system, but one that:

  • safeguards fundamental rights,
  • upholds equality,
  • rejects structural discrimination,
  • and ensures justice.

We are committed to:

  • the right to legal defense
  • supporting transitional justice
  • public legal awareness
  • transparent communication on legal and civil–political issues
  • generating reform-oriented ideas for legislative, judicial, and executive systems

We maintain full independence from political parties, governments, and non-professional interests.
